Internet Alliance was held a successfully business trip to Japan, Tokyo on date 19th – 24th November 2016 with 41 delegates from different Malaysia companies. It was an annual business trip of Internet Alliance which organised for all members to visit the partners’ offices and also meeting the business opportunities in targeted country. As written in the previous blogs(day 1 & day 2 & day 3), we have visited Taiwan in Oct of 2015 and here’s Japan in 2016.
The business trip has been planned for 6 days 5 nights in total. Day-3 (21st Nov) & day- 4(22nd Nov) was the key itinerary to be scheduled as the full day company visits , and the rest of the days were the networking dinners and also site seeing. The group have visited total 6 companies within 2 days, which included ClaraOnline, ECAA, iStyle, Mercari, Rakuten, Interspace and GMO Internet.
“The reason of Internet Alliance took this initiative for organising such trip is because of committees believe the power of grouping. We understand that if sending the invitation as individual actually is harder to get the response from those different partners. Therefore, Internet Alliance would like to group together all the representatives in related fields as the delegates to get the things happen easily”. – President of Internet Alliance – Chan Kee Siak said.
The first company and organisation that delegates visited were ClaraOnline and ECAA(Ecommerce Asia Association). The CEO of ClaraOnline – Kentaro Iemoto has shared about his entrepreneur journey in previous years and how’s ClaraOnline serving in the Japan market now. In the meanwhile, Iemoto-san introduced the ECAA to delegates as represented of ECAA. By introducing the ECAA, delegates understand the current situation of Internet industry in Japan. In the other hand, IA has assigned 1 to 2 companies as representative of Internet Alliance to do the presentation about Internet Industry in Malaysia and their business. IA hope that it could exchange the information from both sides by presenting this kind of sharing session and Logistic Worldwide Express has shared about the logistic solution which provided from them and also the current development about logistic in Malaysia now and Weng from Extreme broadband Network also shared the latest insights.
iStyle was the second company which visited in the day 3. As a horizontal platform which focuses on selling only fashion, iStyle showcase to Malaysia companies the possibility of the E-commerce in matured market – Japan, This session is to let delegates understand that how’s Japanese look into the Ecommerce in South Eash Asia also. Mr.Oon from MOLPay was being the representative of this session to introduce the payment gateway’s solution to all.
The last company that group visited was Mercari. Mercari is the largest mobile ecommerce marketplace in Japan, Yuichi Uchida and his team were introduced about Mercari also the C2C marketplace in Japan. Delegates get inspired by this session due to the insights and team culture from Mercari’s team. In the end of the session, IA has assigned one of member – iPay88 which is one of largest payment gateway in Malaysia to present about the development of Ecommerce in Malaysia.[/avia_table]
