Internet Alliance is a non-profit organization, an association for all Internet service providers ranging from data centers, web hosters, web solutions and design, digital payment gateway, eCommerce ecosystem solution providers, system developers, new tech eg. Blockchain, Big Data Analytics and many more.

IA serves as an effective networking platform for its entrepreneur-spirited members to educate and empower each other within a conducive ecosystem in order to share valuable learning and expertise amongst Internet leaders. Our members whose collective customer-base enables and facilitates about 85% of Malaysia’s entire internet scene.

Our objectives are distinct and focused. We work for all the Internet users in the country, encourage, promote, and render assistance in furtherance of business, welfare, culture and recreation beneficial to our members apart from safeguarding your rights and interest.

The objective of organizing the Internet Alliance Malaysia Business Summit 2023: Cybersecurity is due to the rising of ransomware. Phishing and malware cases are rampant. Cybersecurity incidents are forcing every business to stand up and take notice that the threat is no longer confined to large and targeted attacks. As Malaysia crawls out of the Covid lost years, companies are forced to evaluate their systems and data security.

With many SMEs are still overly reliant on service providers or systems integrators to shoulder the burden of maintaining data integrity, a greater push for education is needed to school business leaders that cybersecurity is the responsibility of all parties, not just the IT folks it is outsourced to.

With cybersecurity spending has skyrocketing globally, it is about time Malaysians caught up with the growing threat that’s at our doorstep. At Internet Alliance Cybersecurity Forum, we’re creating a safe platform for SMEs to learn and adopt security best practices and learn from the leading industry specialist how best to protect our business from imminent threats.

RAHAMZAN BIN HASHIM

Chief Executive, National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) Malaysia.

Mr Rahamzan Hashim has more than 30 years of experience in public service information technology and has served in various ministries throughout his tenure as a civil servant.

Beginning of his career as a civil servant, Mr. Rahamzan's portfolio included Cooperative General Manager, Information Technology Officer, Head of Computer Branch, Special Officer of the Chief Secretary, Director of the Information Management Department, Head of the ICT Strategic Planning Unit, Deputy Director of Tele-health, Secretary of the Information Management Department and now holds the position of Chief Executive at the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA), National Security Council (NSC), Prime Minister's Department since October 2021.

Adhering to the principle of listening and understanding and then implementing quickly and accurately, Mr Rahamzan is a person who mobilises and resolves issues arising in various projects to date including the Pan Borneo Highway ICT project and the ICT Infrastructure Upgrade Project of the Ministry of Public Works.

Mr. Rahamzan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).

DR MAGDA CHELLY

Managing Director, Responsible Cyber

Magda Lilia Chelly is a well-acknowledged cybersecurity expert in the industry and a highly sought-after keynote speaker. She is also an entrepreneur and strong activist for women in cybersecurity. She was a member of the Advisory Board for the Executive Summit at Black Hat Asia and founded Women on Cyber in Singapore, supporting female professionals in the industry.

Magda obtained a PhD in Telecommunication Engineering from the Telecom SudParis and speaks five languages fluently. Magda’s research topics have focused on cybersecurity, the future of localization and positioning, education, and more.

Her research works and writings around cybersecurity have been featured by IEEE, RSA Conference, CYBERSEC, World Congress on Internet Security (WorldCIS-2016), CYBER RISK LEADERS Magazine, among others.

VIVEK SUKUMARAN

Chairman of the Kuala Lumpur State Bar Committee

Vivek Sukumaran has represented various institutional and individual clients and has been reported in various law journals. Vivek is experienced in corporate and commercial disputes and has also taken cases for and against insurance institutions. He also defends white-collar criminal prosecutions involving the Security Commissions (SC) and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Vivek is currently the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee Chairman. He also sits as the Co-Chairperson of the Bar Council Criminal Law Committee.

During the pandemic, Vivek as the Bar Council Covid-19 vaccine delivery coordinator led the KL Bar Vaccine Initiative which expedited the vaccination for more than 5,000 members of the Malaysian Bar nationwide.

Vivek was instrumental in the High Court up to the Federal Court Appeal in the SRC International Sdn Bhd case (Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Hj Abd Razak v Public Prosecutor [2022] 1 MLJ 137).

When he is not in court, Vivek is either in the office or out with clients having coffee or a good ol’ Guinness.
