IA Monthly Workshop

 

In this coming months, Internet Alliance will organise the monthly workshop to discuss with different related topics. We hope it will benefits to the members/None members for improving the skill sets.

 

For this month, March – Legality and liability of IT industry are topics that we would like to focus discuss. We all know that internet business is the fast growing industry and also the key focus industry from the Ministry of Finance in Malaysia. However, the knowledge regarding CyberLaw is not that easy-understand for most of the players who in internet industry. We hope that attendees could learn the Law knowledge, sharing from the profession in Law industry by attending this workshop.

Prior to starting CanLaw, Edwin was a senior associate in the corporate M&A, technology, media and telecommunications as well as competition practice group at Christopher & Lee Ong. He was also an Intellectual Property lawyer specialising in trade mark, passing off, domain name, confidential information, patent, design and copyright contentious and non-contentious matters at SKRINE

Lai Ling is a partner in Raja, Darryl and Loh, a firm of advocates and solicitors since 2005. She is admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and practised in Auckland, New Zealand for a few years until her return to Malaysia. She now works in the firm of Raja, Darryl and Loh, predominantly in the area of Technology, Multimedia and Telecommunications and heads the ICT law section. Lai Ling advises clients in the areas of software licensing, outsourcing agreements, cloud computing, e-commerce, and personal data protection.
